A little about our lodge
Established in 2006, Game Haven Lodge within the Private Chimwenya Game Park has been the realization of a dream that started in the 1980’s.
To create a unique retreat within Malawi which would combine tourism and wildlife conservation whilst supporting the surrounding communities in Bvumbwe. The family owned Lodge has a variety of 25 rooms and 3 self catering guest houses. A beautiful Golf course, has been open for seven years and features stunning views of the natural landscape with the ten different species of animals wandering through the private Chimwenya Game Park.
Chimwenya Private Game Park is filled with exciting activities for all ages ranging from guided game drives to trail rides on mountain bikes, walks, birdwatching, fishing and so much more. The Private Park is a perfect getaway to spend time with friends or family with something for everyone.
Lake Bvumbwe is a beautiful location right next to the Chimwenya stream with a bar and braai/BBQ facilities. Day time fun at the lake with fishing whilst you watch the animals and birds cool down and relax at the waters edge. Amazing afternoons will have you in love with Malawi’s beautiful sunsets.

Beautiful Retreat
I have stayed here twice recently. Once before climbing Mulanje where we had an indulgent meal, made use of the hot showers and comfy beds before our adventure and once for a golfing weekend. Each time the staff were fantastic, the food was delicious and the grounds stunning. So nice to have a walk round and see all the animals! Thank you GameHaven for another great stay!
Great Weekend Away
Wonderful weekend away with a group of friends. Staff were really friendly, great food, lots of activities and saw all of the animals. Really close to Blantyre for a lunch visit but I'd really recommend staying!

Amazing views, exciting activities and friendly staff in a truly amazing and family friendly environment. We are a family of 5 living in Malawi and this is by far the most family-friendly places we have stayed. We went on the inclusive safari drive, safari walk and biking safari and had an amazing time. We will for sure be back soon!

Ambrosia is a wonderful restaurant set in the heart of Game Haven Lodge, Chimwenya Game Park. Our menu covers a wide variety of food choses and we also cater for vegetarians. On the large verandah you can see the wildlife come drink at the watering hole whilst marvelling at the sunset. Inside a cosy fire place and a private dinning area in our secluded lounge.
Ambrosia looks out onto the Game Park, during your meal you will probably see some species of wildlife walk past. There is a watering hole near the bottom of the cascading lawns, this entices the animals to drink during the dry season.
